To set up your POP / IMAP accounts (email addresses) with outlook 2010, please follow the instructions below:
- Open the Outlook 2010 software, then Click on the "File" menu, choose the "Information" tab on the left, then click "Add an account"
- Check the box at the bottom left: "Manually configure server settings or additional server types".
- Click on "Next"
- Choose: "Internet Mail" and "Next"
- Enter the following information:
Your first and last name.
Email address: enter the email address you want to configure example: test@yourdomainname.com
Account type: Choose POP3 or IMAP
Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
Username: Enter the email address you want to configure, example: test@yourdomainname.com
Your password: Use the password corresponding to the email address in question.
- Click on the "Additional parameters" button then on the "Outgoing server" tab.
- In the "Outgoing server" tab, check the box "My outgoing server requires authentication" then "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server:"
- In the "Advanced options" tab, click on "use the following type of encrypted connection" then choose "Automatic". The outgoing port on "Outgoing mail server SMTP" must imperatively indicate 587.
- Click OK, then click "Test Account Settings", wait for the Status to display Completed.
- Click on Next and finally on Finish
Congratulations you have succeeded. Your account is now configured!
