There are three types of additional domains that can be contained in a web hosting account: parked domains, additional domains, and subdomains.
Parked domains
Parked domains point to your primary domain and share the same web pages; therefore, they do not have separate index pages or folders. In fact, a parked domain is another name for your main website. A common example: a business buys multiple extensions for a domain name (such as mycompany.ma, mycompany.com, mycompany.net, etc.) and points them to the main site. Visitors can then see the same website regardless of the domain name entered.
Additionnal domains
An additionnal domain name is linked to your hosting account, but holds a separate website from your primary domain name. When viewed on the Internet, websites with additionnal domain names appear distinct from each other, as well as from your primary domain website. Search engines, like Google, will think of them all as separate pieces.
Subdomains
A subdomain allows you to split your hosting account so that it acts as a separate website without having to get a new domain name. The subdomain address will contain some additional information (for example, www.subdomain.maindomain.com). You can create a subdomain yourself from any domain name linked to your hosting account.
